- First, hit on “Auto Scan” (red box) (it might have some notice of expired certificates, ignore and close that window)
- Setup the Auto Scan, recommend 15 pages / time (Number of Scans). Choose file type “PDF” (not the one with ocr, that would be super slow). Change your Suffix # format to 00, or you’ll have problem in step 4 and merging process. If you find the capture range is incorrect, change the zooming in “Adjust”.
- Stop when the image is not captured correctly. Delete the bad image, change the suffix #, then hit on “Scan to Drive” in blue box in figure above (the one with HD, this could have better quality than SD one, also export as PDF) The explored PDF would named in ScanPro[ ].pdf format, change to Auto-Scan[ ].pdf corresponding to the right place of the image. (This is important, or we couldn’t get the merged pdf in correct order, this is also the reason why I recommond everyone change the prefix in setting in Auto Scan everytime you stop and changed the output slices.) The photo below is Auto-Scan Pro 2023 in official document. The version we use is 2000, so there’s certain setting that are different.

4. Check the naming of each slices. For Auto-Scan[0-9].pdf, should be in format of Auto-Scan0[0-9], in another word, Auto-Scan1.pdf is not what we expected, Auto-Scan01.pdf is what we want. If you have problem in this, you should go back to step 2 and check your setting of suffix # format.
5. Store the slices to the folder name after [Month][Space][Year], compress to a zip file and send to your personal email.

6. Upload to Google Drive Folder under [Corresponding Tribe]/[scanned]/[# of the microfilm]
(the number of the microfilm could be found on the box of the microfilm, this could help us trace the scanning process)
